Event Management

About this event

Events are a great place to build – and strengthen – community. That’s true both with in-person events and those that are online and hybrid: conferences, tradeshows, presentations, pitch contests, galas, networking events, webinars, etc.

But how do we improve the community aspect of events today? How do we craft events that foster community – and how do we build communities that drive successful events? How do we adapt to online and hybrid gatherings – or re-adapt to in-person events? And how do we tweak events to turbocharge their effectiveness vis-à-vis community development, networking, learning and engagement?

Join us for a fun, participatory and insightful session that blends effective best practices with actual hands-on demonstrations of ways to improve your own events and foster community at the same time.

Please call Kat Jarvis (434.414.0174) or Tirza Austin (571.575.2159) with any questions.

LOCATION:

The event will be held at 1550 Wilson Blvd. It is is an office building next to Association Analytics and across from the Arlington County Fire Department (right next to South Block) on Wilson Blvd.

TRANSPORTATION & PARKING:

If you’re driving, the closest parking to the building is the metered street parking along Wilson Blvd and the surrounding side streets ex: Pierce St. The parking signs differ slightly based on the businesses in that area but in general the street parking is up to 4 hours and is free after 9PM.

We don't recommend parking in the garage that's in the building (1550/60 Wilson Boulevard Parking Garage - Lot #2) because it closes at 6PM. The best garage to park in is the Colonial Parking garage on 1500 Wilson Blvd. This parking garage is located at the intersection of Clarendon Blvd & North Oak Street and the entrance is on Clarendon Blvd (one way street) right across from the Starbucks located at 1501 17th St N in Rosslyn. After 4PM the rate is $5 max and the garage closes at 11PM:

There is also a Colonial Parking Garage in the opposite direction on 1776 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA 22209 that closes at midnight and $5 max starting at 6PM:

The building is also located just a 8-minute walk from Rosslyn Metro Center:
