For our fifth gathering, we will come together for brunch outdoors at the private home of one our members in Santa Cruz. Instead of meeting at a brunch place in Santa Cruz, this is a bring-your-own-brunch (BYOB) gathering. We will be start our brunch at this private home in Santa Cruz at Noon.  You can email Van Riper (van@riper.me) to get the home address.

Our theme for May is Mental Health. Since burnout is a common challenge for community professionals, we can discuss what leads to burnout and what can be done proactively to prevent it.

Our intention is to create a practitioners' community here in Santa Cruz County for community professionals. As the saying goes, "the cobbler always wears the worst shoes." Put another way, humans who are building community benefit from a support community.

We (Karsten & Van) are open to this group evolving over time organically based on who shows up and what they are interested in doing as a community of practice. The caveat being many hands makes for light work. Anything beyond the monthly brunches would depend upon others stepping up to help because Karsten and Van need new shoes! 😃👟
