We meet hundreds of people throughout our professional and personal journeys. We attend conferences, community meetups, workshops, networking events, and online groups. We connect on LinkedIn, exchange contact details, and sometimes have a great conversation—but how many of those interactions actually turn into meaningful relationships?
Effective networking isn't about collecting contacts. It's about building relationships.
This session explores the human side of networking and focuses on how we can create stronger, more meaningful connections within communities and professional networks.
We'll start by looking at why traditional networking often feels transactional. The pressure to introduce ourselves, explain what we do, exchange contact information, and move on can make networking feel more like collecting business cards than connecting with people.
