CMX Office Hours - Q&A - Communities in Blockchain/Cryptocurrencies (bitcoin, ethereum, etc)

CMX Community Office Hours

May 5, 2021, 4:00 – 5:00 PM

CMX Community Office Hours For us. By us. This is a community-led event where you ask your CMX peers anything about community topics.

About this event

Hello CMX Community!

For our May 5, 2021 #OfficeHours, we will chat about #Cryptocurrency communities!

WHAT: Come with YOUR questions, and we will do our best to address them. Meet other community professionals who are in similar situations and build your network of support! This event is open to all community professionals and enthusiasts.

TOPIC:   NFTs, ETH have been in the news lately.  What are they?  What kinds of communities are in this space?  It's time for us to know more about this popular industry, and understand the role of communities in their growth.

(A cryptocurrency (or “crypto”) is a digital currency that can be used to buy goods and services, but uses an online ledger with strong cryptography to secure online transactions.

Cryptocurrency is a form of payment that can be exchanged online for goods and services. Many companies have issued their own currencies, often called tokens, and these can be traded specifically for the good or service that the company provides. Think of them as you would arcade tokens or casino chips. You’ll need to exchange real currency for the cryptocurrency to access the good or service.

Cryptocurrencies work using a technology called blockchain. Blockchain is a decentralized technology spread across many computers that manages and records transactions. Part of the appeal of this technology is its security.)
